Get to know Mo.
I’m from the Scottish Borders, one of the most beautiful natural landscapes known to man, where nearly 90% of the land is used for farming with productive pastureland, rich arable acres, and bustling rural communities and estates. It was quite literally all around me growing up. Plus, my best friend was a farmer’s son and, now that I think about it, my first girlfriend was a farmer’s daughter. Maybe that’s where the passion came from!
It’s real. And it’s important. And it’s grounded. And it impacts everyone. And it involves fresh air and cracking vistas and great people too. What’s not to love?
The landscape is constantly changing. The tech is always developing. The pressures seem to be growing. Thankfully, the ongoing commitment and passion of the people involved in agricultural, at every level, is the key factor in how the future will look for farming.
I don’t like conflict. So, I’d love to see farmers and government and supermarkets all working positively together. And I’d also love to see agriculture and nature completely in harmony without any compromise.
Crop or livestock? Can I say I’d like to be a Tractor instead? Okay, they’re big, gruff and noisy, and yes they may smell a bit and take up too much room… but you wouldn’t get much done without one. (Wink, wink)
