With an increasingly intense focus on reducing carbon emissions on the road to net zero, RDP established a baseline for scope one, two and three carbon emissions, based on 2019 activity with formal re-evaluation every five years.
The impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic and the mandate to work from home was influential in a systemic change to our working practices. After consulting with the team, RDP took the decision to switch to a remote working policy, with the leadership team meeting face-to-face weekly and the whole-team meeting in-person every other month.
This accounted for a substantial reduction in direct emissions from vehicles, but our commitment did not stop there. We have committed to reaching net zero by 2040, and will continue to monitor our emissions annually to ensure we remain on track to achieve that goal.

scope one and two
Our scope one emissions originate from oil and gas consumed on company premises / at home offices. Scope two then brings in emissions from electricity generation consumed in the day-to-day operation of the business.
scope three
Our scope three emissions consist primarily of staff commuting and business travel. Commuting emissions have greatly reduced with the adoption of home-working and we share transport / use public transport wherever possible for business travel.
